Meme Artist / Shitposter + Community Manager

Gitcoin

Looks like this career opportunity is no longer available. We know this isn't what you were hoping for, but we have many other great opportunities for you to check out. Start a new search now

Gitcoin is a community of funders and builders that want to see web3 thrive. Together, we’ve helped developers raise nearly $20mm by enabling individuals using novel and experimental mechanisms such as quadratic funding. By creating mechanisms for cooperative, decentralized communities to fund themselves, we hope we can move beyond the user-extractive web2 models and sustain our digital infrastructure.

The ideal candidate for this role at least has some experience with crypto communities, solid organizational skills, great vibes, and already spends way too much time on Twitter and Discord. This role will include elements of design, community building, and developer relations. More specifically:

Responsibilities:

  • Creating content around events and activities happening in the Gitcoin community

  • Memeing Gitcoin’s community governance process into existence

  • Moderating Discord and other channels where the Gitcoin community lives

  • Finding new and novel ways to improve the Discord experience

  • Helping new community members navigate the ecosystem and go from 0-1 in web3

  • Moderating and posting updates on Gitcoin’s Twitter

About You:

  • You really care about open source, bonus points if you’re an active contributor to open-source projects (esp if web3 related). You meme for the public good.

  • Self-taught in some field, and consider yourself a voracious learner (we all know this ecosystem moves quickly).

  • Previous experience managing community channels (bonus points for shitposting receipts).

  • Good vibes, you’re personable and able to find ways to connect with people even when there’s not a clear call to action.

  • You have a bias towards action. You get things done. When you can’t get them done, you know how to work with the team / community to get what you need.

This is a hands-on role that will enable you to work in the community and for the community, while growing, engaging, and getting feedback from some of the best folks in web3. We are a fully remote team, but team members will need to be able to work at least partially in MST (Colorado time).

How to Apply:

Email  with a link to your twitter/github (if you’re active there), tell us about your experience managing another Discord community and send some 10/10 memes.
